Hi! I’m rachael farrar, the face behind lowenna designs!

Originally from Cornwall, UK I am now living in Queenstown, NZ discovering everything this incredible country has to offer. I have an obsession with the sea, and this is a driving force behind my paintings. I am happiest by the ocean and I want to spread that happiness through everything that I paint. The name Lowenna is derived from my Cornish roots and as the stunning place I get to call home will always have an influence through my work I thought it would be a fitting brand name. (*Fun fact: It’s also the name my dad wanted me to be called, but he had to settle for it being my middle name!)

I believe art has the power to change how we see the world, and that it can make a difference to our planet. It may only be a small difference, but as long as we are all trying I think that still means something. My art is for anyone that has a love for nature, the ocean and just fun vibrant colourful art. I used to think I had to stick to a medium or style, it had to be either watercolours or acrylics, it had to be seascapes or animal portraits… but I decided that just isn’t me! So, now I paint whatever I want when I want… because that’s what makes me happy and really that’s what this is about.

When I’m not painting (which is rare) you will find me in the sea (or dreaming about the sea), drinking coffee with my friends or out exploring with my better half.
