'Strawberry' The Giraffe Painting Tutorial

Join me this Sunday morning at 8am for my FIRST live Instagram painting tutorial!

For this LIVE we will be painting one of my most popular paintings… ‘Strawberry’ the Giraffe. I thought this would be a great painting to start off with because for one it’s really fun and also it’s such a fluid and free painting that it will be easy for even beginners to create their own versions of it.

A few things I just want to clarify, this is NOT a masterclass on how to perfect watercolour. I won’t necessarily be teaching you the ‘proper’ way to paint with watercolours. I will instead be teaching you how I paint with them, and how I use this medium to create the character within my animal portraits.

I don’t want people to think they need to already be an artist to join in, this live is all about having fun, and creating your own version of ‘Strawberry’ the Giraffe. It doesn’t have to look exactly like mine, it is simply a great activity to get everyone creating in this strange and scary time.

So below are a list of materials to use, these are the things I will be using. If you don’t have all of these then don’t worry, as I know deliveries and getting supplies is quite difficult at the moment. So even if you simply grab some paper and pen to join in with the sketching part then that’s all good! Or if you don’t have watercolours, but you have acrylics or pencil or anything else then simply just apply the same techniques and steps with those instead!

I have also added a link here so you can download a picture of the painting we will be creating, as it’s a good idea to have this in front of you when we do the tutorial to help you paint along.

Download here.

Can’t wait to paint with you all this weekend, see you on Instagram!
